MUKAH: Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi who won a second term as the people’s representative in last month’s state election has pledged to continue serving the people.

He assured that he would continue to cooperate with all the relevant agencies and parties here, for the benefit of the people and the constituency.

Abdul Yakub was speaking at an appreciation dinner at a restaurant here on Tuesday (Jan 11).

He thanked the voters as well as individuals and parties for their cooperation, support and contribution during the election.

He hoped their cooperation and support to him would continue until the end of his five-year term as their representative.

In the  election, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) incumbent Abdul Yakub retained Balingian seat with a majority of 2,904 votes.

A political secretary to the chief minister Faridah Osman, acting Mukah Division Resident  Shafrie Saili, acting Mukah district officer Peleadzman Ahip and Mukah district police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias also attended the event.
