WORKS Minister Baru Bian (PH-Bakelalan) was grilled over Pakatan Harapan government’s lack of development funding to Sarawak.
Infrastructure and Ports Development Assistant Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi lambasted the state PKR chairman over the issue.
Baru had interrupted Julaihi when the latter was fielding a question by Majang Renggi (GPS-Samalaju) on the amount of foreign investments in the Samalaju Industrial
Area.
The Sebuyau assemblyman chided the Works Minister pointing out that even the road development in Baru’s Selangau parliamentary constituency has not been up to par.
A heated exchange occurred briefly in the august House and ended with Julaihi urging Baru to fight for more development funds to be allocated to Sarawak.
“Don’t restrict the funding to Sarawak. How is it that the projects in other states are approved easily but somehow the same standard does not apply to Sarawak?” asked Julaihi.
“How is it that the funds are mostly Malaya-centric. Ask yourselves that, make good on your promises,” said Julaihi.
