GEDONG: The final week of election campaigning is regarded as crucial for candidates to establish a comprehensive strategy to steal the hearts of voters.

With only six days left, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for Batang Sadong, Rodiyah Sapiee is in the final stretch, campaigning in person and on social media.

After spending several days visiting villages and the headquarters to deliver rallies and interact with voters, Rodiyah has almost lost her voice.

She told the media that she wanted to make sure that everyone, young and old, cast their ballots on Nov 19.

“We’ll strive to reach out and encourage young people, veteran voters, and new voters to cast their ballots.

“I have faith that the current trend will hold until Nov 19. We will plan actions to win the public’s support.”

She told the media this after the presentation of compensation with regard to the upgrading projects in Simunjan and Sebuyau at Dewan Patinggi Ali here on Sunday (Nov 13).

The Batang Sadong parliamentary seat will see a one-on-one fight between Rodiyah and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah-PH) candidate Lahaji Lahiya.

The 44-year-old engineer was nominated for the seat to replace incumbent Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, who switched to Santubong.
