BAU: A 23-year-old man was apprehended during an investigation called Ops Dadu for engaging in gambling activities at a residence in Jalan Emas here on Thursday.
According to Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon, the suspect was arrested at 4.30pm by the district’s Criminal Investigation Department.
“Police seized various items including a mobile tab with a sim card and a sum of cash from the suspect.
“We discovered that the suspects had no prior criminal record,” he said.
The man would be investigated under Section 4A(a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 for illegal lottery sales, as well as Section 4(1)(c) of the same act for engaging in online gambling activities.
