KUCHING: The late Datuk Frederick Bayoi Manggie served Kedup well, said current Kedup assemblyman, Martin Ben.

“I know this because I was his youth chief at one time and I was also his deputy divisional leader when he was still with Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).

“He was hardworking and was always serious in doing his job.

“He did a lot for Kedup for three terms from 1996 until 2011 before I took over,” he told New Sarawak Tribune during a phone conversation on Monday (Sept 21).

Martin expressed his regrets at the passing of Bayoi.

He also went to pay his last respects to the former Kedup assemblyman after learning about his death.

“I want to send my deepest condolences and sympathy to the family. He was a great leader and his passing will be felt by the whole Serian community,” added Martin.
