BELADIN: All villages in the Beting Maro state constituency will be developed through high-impact projects under the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA), said Razaili Gapor.
The Beting Maro assemblyman further stated that an allocation of RM200 million for each state constituency has been planned to ensure that no area is left behind from the impact of establishing the regional development agency.
“Insha-Allah, BDDA projects are planned comprehensively for all villages, for all residents.
“And our hope is that within three years until 2025, all proposed projects can be initiated.
“By 2026, we hope that some will already be completed and beneficial to the people,” he said.
Razaili made these remarks during the District Business Registry Programme in Pusa in conjunction with the Beting Maro Carnival 2023 at Temenggong Kadir today.
He explained that most proposed projects involve infrastructure development, especially to stimulate economic activities.
For proposals in Pusa, he added that a sports complex costing RM20 million will be built.
“Additionally, a river embankment project in front of the food court near Tanjung Pasir in Sungai Uguran (RM10 million), a mini embankment project nearby the Islamic community cemetery near Kampung Kalok to address flood issues, especially due to high tides, with an allocation of RM10 million.
“To support core economic activities, we will also build a Tourism Discovery Centre similar to the one at Sebuyau Bridge, so that we can boost tourism activities by promoting Pusa as a tourism centre in terms of history, food, and more.
“Just as now we have cooperation with Brunei Darussalam to develop the Tandang Sari and Dato Godam Tombs,” he said.
Regarding agricultural infrastructure projects, he hoped that the community could benefit from them to enhance land use activities.
As for the old Beladin SK site, he said the site would be developed as an event organising hub in addition to the construction of many projects for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) once it is handed over to the Sarawak government,
“Among the planned projects is a river embankment as erosion control (RM26 million) and the establishment of a sales centre and the opening of 10 business kiosks.
“This means that it will ensure that residents have the opportunity to get business premises,” he said.
