KUCHING: Malaysian lawmakers are told to learn from their mistakes and be better administrators for Malaysia.
Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing said this in response to the news of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s appointment as the new prime minister.
“With Muhyiddin as the eighth prime minister, the political ‘roller coaster ride’ which Malaysians were forced to endure, finally comes to an end.
“Right now, let the Malaysian lawmakers settle down and govern this country as they were elected to do,” he stated.
Masing further advised to forgive and forget, and to work together to administer this country.
“After all, not all of us are angels and not everyone in the past was devils.
“It’s my hope that the lawmakers learn from their mistakes and be better administrators for this beloved nation of ours,” he said.
Yesterday at 4.30pm, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah appointed Muhyiddin as the new prime minister.
Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin who announced the appointment, said that the swearing-in process will take place today (Mar 1) at Istana Negara at 10.30am.
