KUALA LUMPUR: The Social Security Organisation (Socso) has never offered any micro loans and has detected the account of a Facebook user who offered the service using Socso’s name and logo.
“We want to stress that Socso has never given out any micro loans or permitted anyone or company to offer services to the public or depositors using its name and logo,” Socso said in a statement on Thursday.
It said it regrets that certain irresponsible parties had spread false information which confused the public and viewed the use of its name and logo as an attempt to benefit certain parties.
“The act is unethical and against the law, and action can be taken against it. Socso also advises the public not to be easily duped by false advertising like this,” it said.
