KUCHING: Fellow at Academy of Sciences Malaysia, Datuk Dr Madeline Berma’s hope for the new year is for Malaysians to be kinder and more understanding.

She hoped that people would be more empathetic now that everyone had all gone through the Covid-19 pandemic together.

“I hope it will bring Malaysians closer, to share our experiences and to share resources that have been helpful.”

She hoped Malaysians would show a greater level of compassion to one another, emphasising that kinder voices were needed in the nation.

She said a sweet memory she had of this year was wearing her Covid-19 quarantine tag issued by the Health Ministry.

“I had to undergo three Covid-19 nasal-throat swab tests and a period of self-quarantine. All three tests produced negative results.”
