BY MAYA GREEN
You can’t always control, what you’ll encounter — so reflect on this,
But you can always control how you’ll engage it — so remember this;
The life of this world, may look so enticing,
But beware, be ye not bewitched.
Know that, what was once so attractive
May one day appear, so ugly before you,
You will want to run away, far away from it;
For it has become a horrible, vicious witch.
If you don’t flee from it, you’ll want to cry,
Looking for solace — searching for peace.
Always look for the substance of things
Seek out the true essence of the matter,
And not so much, and never, just the form;
Notice how life comes in many forms,
But of their essence, it’s the same life force;
The one energy — in all of things, and forms.
So beware my friend, be ye not, bewitched
The life of this world, can be so enticing,
But it’s all a mirage, no matter how exciting;
If you don’t flee from it, one day you’ll cry
Tears seeking solace, in search of peace;
Alas, by then — it may be, just, just too late.
