BETONG: The Short Runway Airport (STOLport) project in Bebuling is progressing well, with 55 per cent of the construction work completed.

Acting Divisional Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) Betong Division Jason Ng said the project is on schedule and expected to be finished by 2025.

Ng said this to reporters during a visit with Ts Meehan Jorai, the Principal Assistant Director of the Project Monitoring Branch, to assess the project’s progress in the Betong Division today.

They also inspected the construction site of the Sungai Paku Bridge in Jalan Tanjung Sebekut, Spaoh.

Another part of the project includes building a new road from Rumah Panjang Maja to Penurin, and the first phase of Jalan Penom/Ulu Bayor/Danau, Betong (RTP).

Ng gave Meehan an update on the current progress of the physical construction.

An engagement session was also held with stakeholders at the PWD Office of the Betong Division, including the contractors.
