BALINGIAN: The Bederun Pesta is set to return and will be held from June 2 to 4 featuring a range of exciting programmes and activities.

Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi said it is an iconic event here and one of the main highlights is the water sports.

“Apart from that, there will also be bazaars, stalls, sports activities, entertainment, cultural performances and exhibitions on development programmes and education to make the festival more interesting,” he said.

The festival will also include other programmes such as ‘bermukun’, land sports, and the promotion of local culture, customs and foods.

He said this after attending the Bederun Balingian Pesta 2023 meeting at Mukah District Office recently.

Abdul Yakub also said that the community in Balingian is looking forward to the excitement of this kind of programme after it has not been held for a few years due to the pandemic. This event is expected to benefit the locals by generating additional income and introducing his constituency as an interesting location to visit.
