BEIJING: Over 1,600 exhibitors from 71 countries and regions are converging for the 30th Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) from June 19-23.

Known as the second largest book fair in the world, this year’s event will feature over 220,000 Chinese and foreign titles.

The event, taking place at the China National Convention Centre (CNCC), is hosted by the China National Publications Import and Export (Group) Co Ltd with Saudi Arabia as this year’s guest country of honour.

Saudi Arabia will be showcasing approximately 120 titles in Arabic and English with focus on literature, fairy tales, and educational materials.

As this year marks the 75th founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, a large-scale exhibition featuring major series of books published over the past 75 years will also be presented at the event which will concurrently showcase the achievements of China’s publishing industry over the years.

During the event, various cultural exchange activities will be held including an international forum on the publishing industry and on children’s books.
