BEKENU: Community leaders have been reminded that they play crucial roles in the development of their respective communities.
In giving the reminder, Women, Family and Childhood Development Assistant Minister Rosey Yunus said they are responsible for taking care of the well-being of their people.
She made the point after presenting 22 re-appointment certificates to village chiefs in the Bekenu area yesterday morning.
“Having received their re-appointment certificates, I hope they would carry out their duties and responsibilities as best they can,” she said.
Rosey added that in line with Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg’s aspirations, grassroots leaders must adapt to the usage of digital technology in their dealings with the people.
“With the rapid changes in today’s world, we need to keep abreast with the latest technology and use it for your own and your people’s benefit,” she said.
The simple letter presentation ceremony was held at the Subis District Office. Subis District Officer Jamali Basri was also in attendance.
