BINTULU: Uma Bawang, a longhouse in Sungai Asap, Belaga, was razed by a fire yesterday.
The Fire and Rescue Department operation centre said 11 firemen from Bintulu fire station were despatched to the scene after being alerted at 6.03pm.
The normal travelling time to the place from Bintulu is about two hours.
At the time this news was written, the firemen were on their way there and it’s not immediately known the extent of damage to the longhouse and the number of people affected.
