BINTULU, May 15: Belia 69 emerged as the champion of the Community Futsal Championship of Sebauh District 2023 edition.
They defeated their opponents with a score of 3-1 in the final match held at the Sebauh Futsal Arena yesterday afternoon.
As the champions, the team brought home a cash prize of RM1,200, a trophy, and medals, while team Gelamians received RM700, a trophy, and medals as the runners-up.
Third place was won by the Unique team, which received a cash prize of RM500 and medals.
Gibbly Dayung Nyaring from Gelamians team was crowned the best player, while Justin Jerry from Belia 69 was chosen as the top scorer in the tournament organised by the youth of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Branch of Rumah Nyipa Tingang and the Sports Bureau of Rumah Herman Lanying, Kuala Pandan, Sebauh.
The prizes were presented by Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) exco supreme council Saging Layang, on behalf of Bintulu Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.
In his speech, the chairman of the organisers, Herman Lanying, hoped that such activities would attract many people to visit Sebauh town.
