KUCHING: Beluru District is now a Covid-19 red zone.
It changed from orange to red on Thursday (Feb 4) after recording 74 new cases, bringing the total number of local infections in the district to 96.
At the same time, Sri Aman, Matu and Selangau districts changed from yellow to orange after reporting 28, 25 and 23 local infections respectively in the last 14 days.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas disclosed this in the daily Covid-19 update here on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the districts of Kapit, Song, Dalat, Bintulu, Kanowit, Miri, Sibu and Kuching remain red with 1,882 cases of local infection reported in the last 14 days.
Bau, Lundu, Subis and Betong districts also remain orange with 111 cases of local infection reported in the last 14 days.
The districts of Sarikei, Daro, Sebauh, Lawas, Telang Usan, Bukit Mabong, Tatau, Pakan, Serian, Belaga, Meradong, Julau, Simunjan, Lubok Antu, Sarikei, Limbang and Samarahan retain their yellow status, with a total of 125 local infections reported in the last 14 days.
“There are nine green districts in the state,” said Uggah.
