MIRI: A group of firemen of Miri central fire station on Thursday carried out sanitisation work on Borneo Evangelical Mission (BEM) Morsjaya church, here.

According to Penghulu Randi Elon, who is in-charge of the church’s property and development, the team arrived around 9am to carry out the sanitisation work on the first and second floors of the building.

Since the Covid-19 outbreak, the church and other churches have been closing their doors for congregations as a step to curb the spread of the disease, Randi said.

“At the moment, we are still waiting for the official announcement from Unifor (Unit for Other Religions) whether we can re-open the church for congregations,” he said.

On Thursday, he thanked Miri Bomba personnel for their effort and support by sanitising the church premises.
