KUCHING: The Sarawak First River Moot will allow young people to build lasting friendships, broaden their perspectives, and strengthen their international understanding as citizens of the world through the scout method.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday officiated at the launch of the Sarawak First River Moot held at Kuching Waterfront.
The programme was attended by not only scouts from Sarawak but also from Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and West Kalimantan.
New Sarawak Tribune took the opportunity to speak to scouts and leaders to get their views of the Sarawak First River Moot.

“The programme held from July 1 to 4 is specifically for scouts who are no longer in schools. It aims to attract the interest of the group as well as train them to become leaders for the next generation. At the same time, various activities were held such as climbing Mount Serapi and planting mangrove trees in the Sampadi area.”
