MUKAH: The benefits offered by the Self-Employment Social Security Scheme (SSS) for the self-employed and Social Security Organisation (Socso) have caught the attention of Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine.

Royston said this when receiving a visit and briefing from the Socso Mukah Office through its service officer, Azia Lydia recently.

He also mentioned the Employment Insurance System (EIS) which is said to give a lot of benefits to employees. These schemes provide protection to insured persons who have lost jobs as well as looking for job opportunities.

“Individuals who do their own work especially will receive various benefits. The scheme can be utilised by the insured individuals in the event of unforeseen events such as job loss and involving in an accident during work,” he added.

As such, Royston thanked Azia and Mukah Socso for paying a visit to the Tellian DUN Service Centre to share the range services offered by the organisation.

“Hopefully we can work together to implement programmes such as mini career carnivals as well as any related programmes schemes offered by Socso in Tellian,” he said.
