KUCHING: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Youth (Armada) Sarawak asserts that no one party in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition dominates power in terms of decision-making and government policies.

Its chief Alexander Frusis said this in response to a statement by Michael Kong, special assistant to Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman Chong Chieng Jen, published on an online news portal recently.

Frusis, in a statement today described Kong’s statement as a ‘cheap political publicity’.

“Describing Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) as a ‘pawn’ which is ‘ordered’ (bidak yang diperintahkan) by Bersatu and Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) in the PN government seems to belittle the efforts of the PN government in helping the people in Sarawak,” he said.

He said the priority of the PN government at this time was to ensure that the people welfare continued to be taken care of, as seen through its latest initiative – the RM20 billion Pemerkasa programme announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin – in addition to other assistance packages such as Prihatin, Penjana and Permai.

“This is solid evidence that the PN government is one which cares for the people and strives for the nation’s economic recovery,” he said.

Frusis also said the Sarawak government under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg should be commended for safeguarding the wellbeing of Sarawakians in terms of health, economic and social aspects.

“The people are wise enough to evaluate the government’s efforts rather than indulge in games of race and religion played by certain parties,” he said.
