KUCHING: BeSquare by Deriv, a hands-on, practical programme is now open for applications for its next batch of fresh graduates for the April 2022 intake.
According to its statement today (Jan 31), the programme offers industry learning, professional growth, and self-development through carefully curated sessions and scenarios designed by members of Deriv’s senior team.
“Working together both as a team and alongside mentors, participants are able to solve real problems faced by the business, and share solutions developed in order to springboard further growth,” it stated, adding that its first cohort which was participated by 48 Malaysian university graduates proved its success.
Elaborating further, its chief business development officer, Waqas Awan, said the BeSquare cohort had plenty of space for collaborative work.
“While there are still two months left in the programme with this inaugural cohort, the quality of candidates and deliverables is reinforcing the decision to accelerate BeSquare.
“The outcomes now speak for themselves, and I firmly believe we have excellent long-term candidates here ready to join Deriv as full time team members.
“Hence, we look forward to opening up more spaces in our April 2022 cohort, and contributing to the development of even more graduates,” he said.
Besides receiving mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals, he pointed out that BeSquare participants who perform exceptionally well during the programme will be offered permanent positions at Deriv.
“If they accept, they’ll have the opportunity to pursue a tech career with an industry leader that’s geared for growth,” he said.
He then reiterated that applications for the second cohort encourage recent graduates or final semester students from the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to apply.
“The applicant must be a Malaysian citizen with fluency in English,” he said.
