SIBU: SMK Sacred Heart, which topped the nation in 2016 and ranked top five in 2017, performed even better in the 2018 STPM exams.

Its overall Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.46 is way better than 2016’s 3.36 and 2017’s 3.35.

A total of 124 students (40 Science stream and 84 Arts stream) sat for the exams – all of them passed.

Fourteen of the students scored straight 4As, 21 scored 4A/A-, 28 achieved 3A/A- while 20 scored 2A/A-.

The top scorers were Alex Lee, Bobby Yii Chung Leong, Collin Rezuan, Jeremy SiaYik Xian, Judy Wong Shi Ping,Lim Kui Ping, Lim Hui Jiong, Ling Jing Kai, Phoebe Ng Li Jieh, Stephanie  Wong Su Ling, Stephen Wong Kee Cheng, Ting Chek Yu, Wee Siaw Fen and Wong Ching Mee.

SMK Sacred Heart principal David Teo, speaking at the result slippresentation yesterday, said the result was the best ever in the history of the school.

“This is the best of all these years and for the past three years, all students passed the exam.”

The recipe for the success, he said, was due to the hardwork put in by the students themselves and the teachers.

He advised the students to go further and aim higher when they enter their university life.

“Be grateful also to your parents and the school for the guidance in helping you achieve good results.”

Meanwhile, Parent-Teacher Association president Dr Lau Ngi Chuong was also delightedwith the outstanding achievement.

“The success is not only due to hardwork but also the many good and experienced teachers we have. The environment at the school is also conducive for studying. The students also pushed each other to achieve the excellent results.”
