BINTULU: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is seen as the best platform to continue the late Pehin Sri Adenan Satem’s legacy, which is the fight for Sarawak’s eroded rights.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi  Abang Johari Tun Openg said as an independent identity, the Sarawak government under GPS could decide its own future.

“We are adults now, we can think and plan on how to govern Sarawak without interference from outside parties,” he said during the GPS Flag Rally at Bintulu Civic Centre here yesterday.

“GPS is a party that puts Sarawak’s priorities first and it will strive to make the state a better place.

“We want to continue developing the state, maintaining peace and harmony among the people and improving the living standard of the people,” he added.

Johari said he was happy to witness such enthusiasm from the rally groups.

Meanwhile, Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president Datuk Sri Tiong King Sing told GPS members to serve the people with sincerity.

“We must deliver our duty with sincerity and not have that sort of ‘syok sendiri’ (full of yourself) kind of attitude. Only then, the people will put their trust in us,” he pointed out.

He also called upon all Bintulu folks to give their fullest support to GPS as it would determine a better future for Sarawak.

Earlier, Johari also attended the PDP triennial general assembly (TGA) and waited for the GPS Rally groups travelling from Bekenu to arrive at the Bintulu Civic Centre.
