BELADIN: Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor has proposed that a community wellness centre be established on a 10-acre plot of land at Masjid Beladin al-Amin here.

He added that the centre would be established through collaboration between the service centre, mosque management committee, and mosque congregation cooperative.

“We are looking ahead. Rather than leaving the open area vacant, it is better to develop it.

“Additionally, we have already provided facilities such as a hall and a fermentation centre, and we will add more facilities in the future for the convenience of the community, especially the youths.”

He said this at the Majlis Sejambak Kasih Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2023 event for Betong Division (for the Beting Maro constituency) held at Masjid Beladin al-Amin on Wednesday (April 12), which was officiated by Sarawak Deputy Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Mohammad Razi Sitam.

Razaili said that young people needed to be bold and explore smart agriculture.

“I want to focus on this effort because the potential is enormous. Maybe we can’t see it yet, but we need to be prepared so that we don’t fall behind.

“Therefore, I want to complete this area (the Masjid Beladin al-Amin compound) with the necessary aspects of modern agriculture, with the hope that one day it can become a training centre for the children of Beting Maro,” he added.

Touching on the aid donation by the Sarawak Social Welfare Department (JKM), Razaili described the effort as pure because it brought joy to the recipients.

However, he added that they should always strive to improve their income or socioeconomic status from time to time.

Also present were Batang Lupar MP Mohamad Shafizan Kepli, Sarawak JKM director Adana Jed, Pusa District officer Bujang Ladi, and Betong Division JKM officer Abdul Shamat Kassim.
