BETO Kusyairy has nothing to say when it comes to the box office results of the “Mat Kilau” spinoff film, “Pendekar Awang”, seeing that he is not involved in the project.
The 44-year-old actor, who was among those who received the most praise in the original 2022 “Mat Kilau” movie for his performance as Wahid, said that he is always praying for the success of “Pendekar Awang” and has no ill-will towards anybody involved in the project. “But I have no right to make any statement regarding the film.
You can’t compare Mat Kilau with Pendekar Awang. Both are different movies from different directors and productions,” he said. Asked whether he has watched the latest movie, in which fellow “Mat Kilau” actor Fattah Amin reprises his role as the titular character, Beto said that he has yet to see it.
“I haven’t found time to watch the movie due to work commitments. But I will always wish the movie the best,” he added. It is noted that the film, which co-stars Nadhir Nasar, Fazura and Heliza Helmi, has not released any new numbers since revealing that it made RM2.4 million in the first 56 hours of its release.
