KUCHING: The total number of flood victims in Betong district sheltered in the evacuation centre at Dewan Perpaduan Debak fell to 430 people from 93 families as at 8 am this morning
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) secretariat in a statement said there were 431 victims from 93 families at the relief centre last night.
So far only one centre was opened after four villages in Debak sub-district namely Kampung Bungey, Kampung Babu Debak, Kampung Lalang and Kampung Debak Laut were affected.
The villages were inundated when Sungai Rimbas overflowed its banks into the surrounding low lying areas following heavy rain last night, the statement said. – Bernama
