Betong, Pakan districts turn red

KUCHING: Betong and Pakan districts have turned red after respectively recording 42 and 46 positive cases in the past 14 days.

In its report on Saturday (July 24) the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) also pointed out that Telang Usan’s status also changed from red to orange after recording 26 Covid-19 positive cases in the last two weeks.

Meanwhile, Lubok Antu is now a yellow zone district, a change from orange status after recording two cases in the last 14 days.

Tanjung Manis, however, had turned to a yellow zone district from its former green status after seven local cases in the past two weeks.

This development brings the state’s statistics to 18 districts with red status, seven orange districts, and 12 districts with yellow status while three districts enjoy green status as of Saturday. 

On another note, the SDMC also declared one locality that was put under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

The committee said that Kampung Kanchong Baru, Gedong in Simunjan district has undergone EMCO from July 24 to Aug 6.

It also announced the end of EMCO in two localities, namely the Central Prison in Miri district and Sime Darby Plantation estate workers’ quarters in Bintulu district.
