KUCHING: The public have been reminded to beware of dubious individuals claiming to be authorised agents of entrepreneurial programmes under the Cooperative Institute Malaysia (CIM).
Deputy director-general of human capital development Ramlan Kamsin advised the public to only deal directly with CIM.
“I would like to reiterate that CIM does not appoint any third-party individual or company to collect deposits or course registration fees through digital media,” he said at the “Intellectual Discourse Industrial Revolution 4.0: Ringgit Malaysia 24-hr Secret Transaction” programme here yesterday.
He said that CIM had made police reports and raised the matter with related authorities.
“The course fee is only RM30, not more. All dealings (course registration and fees) must be made directly with our organisation,” he added.
To date, Ramlan said three cases had been identified this year in which one was reported in Sarawak.
“The individuals claimed that they were our agents. Then they asked for booking or upfront payment amounting to RM200 to secure a place to attend a two-day course on rabbit breeding,” he said.
