MIRI: Nine firemen from Lopeng fire station last evening successfully saved a four-metre-long whale that was stranded on Kuala Baram beach.

Some people who spotted the creature around 4 pm called the fire station for help.

The rescuers’ first attempt failed but after two hours of hard work, they eventually managed to push the whale to the sea. It is not known how the whale got beached in the first place.
