The Region 5 Marine Police Force confiscated contrabands worth RM702,814.05 at a house in Jalan Trusan here on Friday (Jan 29).

Its commander ACP Shamsol Kassim in a statement on Saturday (30 Jan) said during the raid, his team confiscated 910,000 sticks of illicit cigarettes and 128 boxes of liquor.

“The raid and inspection of a two-storey house at the location was carried out by a team of Marine Intelligence Unit (URM) members from the Marine Police Force Region 5, Martek Sibu at 3.30 pm.

“The operations officer had to instruct members to cut the padlock at the gate and the entrance of the house with an iron cutter after waiting for two hours and no homeowner opened the door,” he said.
