KUCHING: One of the last four Bidayuh Ring Ladies, Nyadi Dolah, was laid to rest at the Anglican Cemetery in the Bengoh Dam Resettlement Scheme (BRS) today (Dec 17).
The 92-year-old Ring Lady passed away on Friday (Dec 16) at 1am after her daughter who was with her at home in Kampung Semban, BRS noticed her stopped breathing.
Her second daughter, Tipah Ahi, 62, said while she had hard time breathing, Nyadi laid down on a sofa at home to rest.
“There was a noise heard through her slow breathing, which was odd at that time. I went to the kitchen to get her some water.
“As I came back to her, the noise through her breathing stopped, so I had to check. That’s when I noticed that she had passed away,” said Tipah.
Medical officials were called to Kampung Semban for inspection and Nyadi was pronounced dead.
At around 11am this morning, her body was brought to the All Saint’s Anglican Church, BRS for funeral prayers before heading to the cemetery.
At 12pm, family, friends and the villagers gathered at the cemetery for the funeral ceremony and to pay final respects to Nyadi before being buried.
Nyadi leaves behind her six children, 21 grandchildren and some 20 great-grandchildren.
