KUCHING: Political observer Datuk Peter Minos concurs that Puncak Borneo Parliamentary seat belongs to Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).
“Puncak Borneo seat has been and will always be PBB/GPS seat. PBB will not and cannot compromise on this because there is no way that a Peninsula-based party such as Bersatu is welcome to Sarawak.
“Willie, who is from Bersatu, formerly of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), is in no position to tell PBB what to do with its seat at Puncak Borneo nor can he advise PBB to stand in that seat when the general election comes.
“That right belongs to PBB,” he stressed when commenting on a statement by Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin that he was ready to defend the seat for the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) while hoping that GPS would give him space and opportunity to defend the seat.
Minos stated that the Bidayuhs were getting sick and fed up of political frogs as their actions adversely affected the name and political integrity of the community.
“Enough is enough. The Bidayuhs want to be in sync with the general political mood which is that Sarawak must be led by Sarawak-based political parties and leaders, not those in cahoot with parties from Malaya.
“There is also no love for those who won from Peninsula-based parties seeking to jump to Sarawak-based parties when things get hot and when circumstances change or when that suits their personal interests,” he added.
