BINTULU: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has hinted that a very big investment for the state will be announced soon.
“There is already a very big investment coming here, also using part of the product from methanol.
“It is something related to medical — medical equipment. I will announce it later,” he said.
He said this at a press conference after visiting the Sarawak Petchem Methanol Project at Tanjung Kidurong here on Tuesday (Nov 9).
He said foreign investors were confident in Sarawak as the state could deliver.
“We, Sarawakians, are very friendly people. Most importantly, political stability is very important and we have leaders who work as a team.
“When we work as a team, we must have certain visions for the future which is why by the year 2030, Sarawak will be transformed as a developed state with high income,” he said.
Abang Johari expressed confidence that more job opportunities would be created for the locals with more investments coming into the state.
“I am sure the investments will create more jobs for the young. As such, the young must be trained so that they can perform their duties,” he added.
