KUCHING: A head-on motorbike-lorry collision took the life of the motorcyclist and his pillion rider at KM31 Kota Samarahan.
The lorry was travelling to Kota Samarahan from Sadong Jaya while the motorcycle was going in the opposite direction when they crashed into each other around 8pm last Wednesday.
State traffic police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the motorcyclist identified as 22-year-old Mohamad Zairul Sharifudin from Kampung Jemukan Tengah in Sadong Jaya died at Asajaya clinic where he was taken for treatment.
His body was sent to the morgue of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further action.
The pillion rider, Ismail Adam, on the other hand, was taken to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) where he was pronounced dead at 3am yesterday.
“Initial investigation revealed that they were negotiating a bend when their motorcycle went out of control and collided with the lorry,” said Alexson when contacted.
Both Mohamad Zairul and Ismail, who were from Kampung Jemukan, were pinned under the lorry.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
