BINTAGOR: The Bintangor community is set for another milestone with the commencement of its first “e-learning” kindergarten soon. The kindergarten is part of the Bintangor Malay Charitable Trust Board’s (Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Melayu Bintangor) newly established Bintangor Community Complex here.
Known as “Kinder Doc”, this online education platform is the result of a collaboration between Danawa Education Sdn. Bhd, part of the Danawa Group, a leading industry player in the development of ICT infrastructure in Malaysia and the appointed implementor of the Sarawak Rural Broadband Initiative (SRBI), in collaboration with the Sarawak State Government, and Kebajikan Dayang Fatimah Berhad, a local charity, which contributed some RM2.1million towards the establishment of the community complex.
The complex was declared open by the Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Danawa Education Sdn Bhd’s Chief Executive Officer, Tan Yii Ying, explained that “Kinder Doc” was a platform specially developed to facilitate teaching and learning in early childhood education.
“At Danawa Education, we believe that every child deserves the best education possible. We leverage on digital technology to facilitate the teaching and learning process, and we aim to offer quality education programmes which are accessible and affordable to our urban and rural communities.
“Kinder Doc’ seeks to fulfil three objectives – to promote IT literacy among the young, facilitate learning in the digital age via various interesting digital tools and enhance the tracking of students’ development by educators. We expect to roll this out in the next six months for the kindergarten’s first batch of students.
“We understand that this implementation is a pioneering one for Bintangor, and we would like to thank the Bintangor Malay Charitable Trust Board for this exciting opportunity!” Tan remarked.
