Bintulu fishing community benefits from CSR

KUCHING: Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB), through its subsidiary Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd (BPSB), organised an engagement session with Persatuan Nelayan Kawasan Bintulu (PNKB) and the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM) in Bintulu on Tuesday.

According to a statement, the event which aimed to strengthen the company’s relationship with both PNKB and LKIM, is one of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes for the fishing community.

During the event, the group donated RM10,000 to PNKB and RM100 worth of book vouchers to 32 children of the community in Bintulu.

BPHB group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Medan Abdullah who officiated at the event, said they were always concerned about the local fishing community and hoped that the children would continue to excel in their education in order to be competitive in the job market in the future.
