BINTULU: The Bintulu Integrated Administration Centre (IAC) project in Jepak is expected to be fully completed by the end of March next year.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the target completion date for the project was set by the Public Works Department (PWD).
He is confident the project can be completed on schedule due to good weather conditions at the moment, in addition to building material and manpower issues that have been overcome.
Uggah, who is also Minister of Infrastructure Development and Ports, asked PWD to closely monitor the progress of the project, given that the Bintulu-Jepak Bridge is scheduled to be completed by the end of February next year.
Uggah said this after a briefing on the progress of the IAC Bintulu project in conjunction with a working visit here on today.
He is confident the addition of this new building will boost the development and economy of the local community.
“This project reflects the commitment of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government and Premier to create modern, green, and up-to-date administrative facilities.
“This new Integrated Administration Centre (IAC) will house various state government departments and agencies,” he added.
The physical progress of the construction is reported to be at 68.88 per cent slightly ahead of the scheduled 68.78 percent.
Also present were the Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk Sri John Sikie Tayai, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Development of Sarawak Ports (Infrastructure Development) Datuk Aidel Lariwoo and the Director of PWD Sarawak, Cassidy Morris.
