KUCHING: Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) handed over its enormous business zakat (tithe) to the Sarawak Baitulmal Fund (TBS), witnessed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg held at the State Legislative Assembly Building today.

BPHB chairman, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and Group CEO Ruslan Abdul Ghani presented a mock cheque of the business tithe amounting to RM1.2 million to TBS deputy general manager, Bolhasssan Iskandar Taibi.

During the meeting, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki mentioned that he, along with the Board of Directors and management of BPHB, paid a courtesy visit to Abang Johari to provide updates on the operational status of Bintulu Port and related matters.

“Additionally, we also briefed him about BPHB’s future plans aligned with his mission and vision in preparing Bintulu Port for the state’s new economic needs,” he said when approached by the media after the courtesy visit.

Also present during the presentation were TBS deputy sector head of operations, Ustaz Mohd Yusree Mohd Zain, and Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd CEO, Matshalleh Mohamad Etli
