KUALA LUMPUR: Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd’s net profit for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2022 (FY2022) fell to RM127.72 million from RM363.19 million a year ago.

Revenue, however, rose by 8.63 per cent to RM791.26 million from RM728.39 million previously contributed by higher revenue from port’s services at Bintulu Port, Samalaju Industrial Port and bulking facilities, the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

It said revenue generated from port’s services at Bintulu Port increased to RM582.35 million from RM548.12 million during the twelve months of the preceding year and Samalaju Industrial Port generated RM164.24 million revenue compared with RM136.90 million of revenue generated in FY2021.

Meanwhile, it said the revenue from bulking facilities inched up to RM44.67 million from RM43.37 million previously.

Bintulu Port said pre-tax profit jumped 40.9 per cent to RM178.01 million from RM126.32 million in FY2021 contributed by higher revenue generated from liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo, palm oil and Samalaju cargoes.

On prospects, Bintulu Port said it remained positive and expected growth from the handling of Samalaju cargoes as well as palm oil and other project cargoes in FY2023.

“LNG cargo volume will remain neutral in year 2023 and is the main revenue contributor to the group,” it said.

Bintulu Port has recommended a fourth interim single-tier dividend of three sen per share amounting to RM13.80 million, to be paid on April 13, 2023. – BERNAMA
