BINTULU: The new Bintul u Sentral Bus Terminal will start operation and open for business on October 25. This was disclosed at the joint press conference by Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) Gene r a l Manager Rodziah Morshidi, Hock Peng Organisation Managing Director Datuk Toh Chiew Hock and Sarawak Bus Transport Association Chairman Sazali Morshidi, held at Li Hua Hotel here, yesterday.
All bus operators operating at the old terminal nearby will move in before midnight, Oct 24 and will commence operation starting at 12:01am, Oct 25.
The new modern, comfortable, 24- hour CCTV video surveillance and fully air-conditioned terminal have 17 ticketing booths/counters, bus bays and parking lots, with ample parking space for future expansion. It is within the Li Hua Hotel building built by the long established and diversified Hock Peng Organisation, established since the 1962 with interests in property development, construction, hotels and retail and investment holdings.
It is centrally and strategically located along the main Kidurong Road, forming part of the masterplan development known as Bintulu Sentral. Jointly developed by BDA and Hock Peng, Bintulu Sentral is a vibrant integrated commercial and residential centre comprising over 200 units of 3-6 storeyshophouses, banks, offices, retail and entertainment outlets, the 12-storey Sentral Park Residence Apartments and the Bintulu Sentral Bus Terminal, where all the long distance and regional buses from throughout Sarawak, Sabah, Brunei and Indonesia will stop.
