BINTULU: Bintulu Division will host the state-level 2024 National Youth Day celebration next month.

Deputy Resident Abang Zainuddin Abang Turkey said the event will be held at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Bintulu Campus.

He said the programme was being held in appreciation of youth who have contributed to the development of the country.

In addition, he said, it also aims to encourage and raise awareness among the youth that the government always pays attention to them.

National Youth Day also aims to raise the spirit of love and patriotism among the youth so that they continue to contribute to the development of society and the country..

Abang Zainuddin said this during a press conference after chairing the meeting of the organising committee here, on Monday.

According to him, the celebration this time will feature three categories for the 2024 National Award, namely; Male Individual, Female Individual and Youth Organisation.

The programme, which will be held for three consecutive days from May 15 to 18, is targeting 80,000 visitors.
