KUCHING: The Biperoh Association Kuching (BAK) Pasar Tamu will commence operations on Feb 22.
State Assistant Minister for Transportation Datuk Dr Jerip Susil will officiate at the launching ceremony the
following day.
BAK president Mangan Ngandok said various activities would be held on Feb 22, including karaoke sessions and live band performances.
He said some 30 stalls would be operating during the three-day event until Feb 24, selling a wide variety of products, including food and beverages, jungle produce, handicraft and fresh fish.
“In conjunction with the launching of the bazaar, the association will not be charging the stall operators any fee.
“They only need to fill in the forms prepared by the organiser and submit them to Dewort Jawab (tel. no. 013-7657335),” he said, adding that the association would also provide canopies for the stalls but the stall operators need to bring their own tables and chairs.
“Visitors to the event will also stand a chance to win (six) handsome prizes.”
He urged the public to visit the pasar tamu during the three-day event.
The pasar tamu is located at the BAK multi-purpose hall at the junction of Kampung Garung, Jalan Borneo Heights, about 40km from the city. It will be in operation from every Friday to Sunday.
