KUCHING: A workers’ quarters at Jalan Stutong here was completely razed in a fire on Thursday.
State Fire and Rescue Department said a distress call on the incident was received at 4.41pm. Firefighters from Batu Lintang and Tabun Jaya fire stations were immediately despatched to the scene.
“Upon arrival, it was found that a block of non-permanent structure was fully destroyed in the blaze.
“Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire. Luckily the building was unoccupied during the fire incident,” the department said in a statement.
The cause of the fire and loss to properties are still under investigation.
