BINTULU: A house at RPR Kidurong Phase 4 was destroyed in a morning blaze today leaving a family of eight homeless.
The incident did not involve any injuries or casualties as the tenants managed to get out to safety.
Due to the incident, the family had sought temporary shelter at a home of their relatives staying nearby.
A spokesman from the Sarawak Fire Department (Bomba) operations centre said via a press statement that firemen from Bintulu station were promptly despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call around 9.55am.
Upon arriving, the double-storey house was reportedly already 80 per cent destroyed and the extinguishing deed was carried out.
The whole operation ended at 11.10am and the cause of the fire as well as losses incurred are still under investigation.
