KUCHING: Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) blood bank is calling on eligible and new donors to assist it in increasing its type O and B blood supplies.
According to a statement yesterday, the blood supply is decreasing due to lack of blood donors during the festive seasons and an increase in the number of people seeking treatment at SGH.
To ensure the blood bank does not face a shortage of supply, the SGH mobile units will be stationed at three locations this weekend.
On Friday, the mobile units will be at Plaza Merdeka from 10am to 3pm.
On Saturday, they will operate at Mydin Petra Jaya from 10am to 3pm, and at Tadika Rhema, Lorong Keranji, Tabuan Desa from 9am to 2pm.
On Sunday, the team will be at Aeroville Shopping Mall, Jalan Stutong Baru from 9am to 2.30pm, and at Plaza Merdeka from 10am to 3pm.
The SGH blood bank is also open on Monday to Friday from 8am to 4.30pm including lunch time. Five free parking bays located in front of the blood bank building are provided for donors.
Blood donors are also reminded to bring along their record booklets while first-time donors just need to present their MyKad.
