MIRI: The Miri Hospital Blood Bank aims to collect 10,000 pints of blood this year.

Mayor Adam Yii said so far, 4,488 pints of blood have been collected, 3,111 of them coming from regular blood donors.

“Therefore, I urge the community to come forward and donate blood to achieve 10,000 pints of blood by the end of this year.

“I also encourage more young people to actively participate in blood donation activities and promote a healthy lifestyle,” he said during the ‘722 Blood Donation’ programme here on yesterday (July 22).

He expressed gratitude to the community’s continuous support for blood donation campaigns and active participation in donating blood to help ensure the Miri Hospital Blood Bank always has sufficient supply.

“There is a group of dedicated and caring blood donors, as well as volunteers willing to come forward to donate blood and organise blood donation campaigns.

“This is why the Miri Hospital Blood Bank can ensure that it has enough blood to meet patients’ needs,” he said.
