Blood donation drive in Miri this Sunday

MIRI: The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Blood Donor Recruitment Committee, Miri District in collaboration with Sarawak Bank Employees Union 9SBEU) and Moving Communities Team will hold a blood donation drive in conjunction with the Malaysia Day celebration.

To be held at the ground floor of Imperial Mall this Sunday from 9.30am to 1pm, the campaign aimed to help replenish supply at the Miri Hospital Blood Bank.

The event co-organising chairpersons Karambir Singh, Mohd Khairul Ariffin Bolhadi and Doreen Kalang in a joint statement yesterday said they aimed to collect 60 pints at the drive.

It added Miri Hospital Blood Transfusion Service relies heavily on these mobile blood donation drives organised on weekends to ensure adequate blood supply at the hospital.

The organiser appealed to members of the public to come

forward and help contribute towards the success of this noble campaign.

Each blood donor will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.
