MIRI: As thousands of Tecoma flowers blossom from about 20 trees along Jalan Pujut Padang Kerbau, flower enthusiasts cannot resist pulling over at the side of the road to record the scenes with their mobile phones.
The trees lining the four-kilometre road started to bloom in the past few days.
For city dwellers, the scene is dubbed as Miri’s own Sakura season.
“You can see the flower petals falling from the trees … the scene is so beautiful,” said one of the flower enthusiasts who wished to be known as Amy when met at the area.
Netizens have also shared their beautiful photos of the flowers on the social media such as Facebook and Instagram.
The flower petals have created a unique scene in the area.
A local trader, Ah Kiong, whose wooden shop is located in the area, said the trees had been there ever since he was a child.
“It seems that the long, dry season has induced the trees to bloom.
“Perhaps the dry season triggered them to mass flower this year,” he reckoned.
