BAU: Residents here and nearby areas can look forward to the vibrant Blue Lake Festival 2024, set to take place from Oct 25 to 27 at the Bau Bus Terminal.
Spanning three days, the event will showcase various attractions aimed at drawing large crowds, providing a boost to the local economy and benefiting nearby traders.
Bau District Officer Constantine Gerald David Jonas said this year’s event will bring a fresh twist by being held at the Bau Bus Terminal.
“We’ve lined up a range of activities that are sure to captivate visitors and drive economic activities for local vendors,” he said after leading the Blue Lake Festival 2024 organising committee meeting at the Bau District Office Complex yesterday (Sept 11).
Constantine noted that the committee is fully prepared to host the much-anticipated annual festival.
Among the highlights are the blowpipe competition, Beautiful Jong contest, Miss Blue Lake pageant, and arm wrestling event.
The Sarawak Arm Wrestling Association, Bisuwee Bau Blowpipe Club, D’Bau Jong Legacy Club, the Association of Research and Development of Singai Sarawak (REDEEMS), and the Bau District Agriculture Office have also gave briefings on the planned events for the festival.
